PREPARING YOUR HOME FOR APREHEND® TREATMENT
Proper preparation plays a crucial role in faster and more effective bed bug elimination:
- De-clutter the affected area.
- Remove all your clothing items from the floor and cabinets, wash them in the hottest possible water cycle, dry these clothes at high heat, place them in a large bin bag and seal the bag at the top.
- Vacuum the entire area, including carpets, rugs, and upholstered furniture and pay special attention to these pests’ hiding spots like cracks, crevices, and seams.
- Use a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter if possible.
- Be sure to empty the vacuum bag or canister into a sealed plastic bag and dispose of it outdoors.
- Use soap and water to clean and disinfect. This helps keep the product present for direct bed bugs contact.
- Do not use chemical cleaning products, as they may interfere with the effectiveness of the biopesticide. (Lysol, Pinesol, Mr.Clean, bleach, etc.)
- Seal any cracks and crevices in walls, baseboards, and furniture using caulk or sealant. In this way, bed bugs cannot escape or find new hiding spots during treatment.
- Move furniture away from walls and other objects, creating easy access for pest control professionals, and allowing them to apply the biopesticide to potential hiding spots more effectively.
- All residents and pets must vacate the home or business establishment during the application until four hours after the application. While Aprehend® is considered safe for humans and pets, it is best to avoid unnecessary exposure.

Aprehend is applied as a fine mist to places where bed bugs hide like cracks, crevices, baseboards, and edges of furniture. It keeps killing bugs for up to 3 months with one application.
You may still see some live bed bugs for a few days after treatment before the fungus kills them. But populations will be drastically reduced within a week.
Aprehend starts working in 2-5 days, but can take up to 14 days to kill all exposed bed bugs in heavy infestations. The residual effect lasts for 3 months.
